FAQ

Have Questions? We have the answers!

HOW ARE TEAMS DECIDED?

Each semester we will have 2-3 days of skill evaluations depending on the amount of players. At the end of skill evaluations, players will be notified via emailed with an acceptance letter to one of our two travel teams (A or B) or our local C Team.

HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE ON EACH ROSTER?

Typically, we place 12 to 15 players on each of our two travel teams. All other players are placed on our C team. Anyone is able to join C team at any point in the semester!

HOW OFTEN ARE PRACTICES?

We hold 3 practices per week. See our schedule page for specific days/times.

HOW MUCH DO YOU TRAVEL?

Traveling typically depends on what team you are on. Our A and B teams travel to 1-2 in-state and 2-3 out-of-state tournaments per semester. Our C team travels to 1-2 in-state tournaments per semester.

WHERE HAVE WE TRAVELED IN THE PAST?

Our teams make frequent visits to in-state schools for tournaments including USF and UCF. Additionally, we also travel out of state in both the fall and spring semesters. In the past, we have gone to:
Denver, CO
Austin, TX
Chapel Hill, NC
Blacksburg, VA
Clemson, SC
Phoenix, AZ
Tuscaloosa, AL
Athens, GA
Kansas City, MO
and many more!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Because RecSports is unable to reimburse costs associated with travel, players are expected to cover these expenses. Please reach out to our exec team for more updated information.

WHEN AND WHERE IS NCVF NATIONALS?

April 18-20th, 2024 in Kansas City, MO

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?

We practice 3 times a week and occasionally have activities outside of practice that require attendance.

As this is a club sport, we play to have fun, but are also very competitive. We expect everyone to show up to practice and be committed to team activities. Failure to consistently be at practice may affect playing time/position on the team.

WHO IS OUR NATIONAL GOVERNING BODY?

It is the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation (NCVF).
